EU Digital Certificate – Take Action before 31st March

The European Commission has decided to propose the extension of the EU Digital Certificate for another year, until 30 June 2023.

Notre Bon Droit, a Belgium association which represents Belgian and European citizens, has analysed the proposed amended regulation and will soon publish a legal opinion in this respect. In this context, the association is also setting up a large citizens’ campaign in several Member States so your voices can be heard.

They need you!

You may have already participated in phase I of NBD’s action on the EU digital certificate by sending your comments on the European Commission’s website as part of the ongoing public consultation.

It is crucial that EU legislators understand that behind these comments are real individuals, like you and me, families, who have been affected on a daily basis by the imposition of the EU digital certificate, supposedly to “facilitate” free movement during the pandemic.

As it is quite likely that the certificate will be extended for another year, it is crucial to make our voices heard now!

Could you therefore share with us your testimonies and stories illustrating your personal difficulties by sending us:

-a paragraph about your situation,

-A photo of yourself and a paragraph about your situation,

-a video of yourself (max 1 minute) in selfie format about your situation,

explaining the reasons why the extension of the EU digital certificate has affected your freedom of movement and will continue to impact your daily life as a EU citizen?

Please send your contribution to with the title “EU certificate action” by 31 March 2022 at the latest.

Please read our Re-publishing Guidelines.
